Enrolments

Enrolment

The School welcomes students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and, at present, we may have vacancies in some year groups.

As Mundaring Primary School is a ‘local intake area school’ please click HERE to ensure that your home address falls within our intake area.

If you reside outside our intake area, you are still able to make an application to enrol. However, it is up to the principal to approve the request.

To experience our School's 'atmosphere' and to see our teaching and learning in action, you are invited to visit us. There is always an open invitation for you and your children to come and see us at work. Please email mundaring.ps@education.wa.edu.au beforehand or phone 08 9295 9500 so we can make the time to show you around.

Enrolment Application Process

Applications to attend Kindergarten and Pre-primary in 2025 are now open. (The application process concludes 19 July 2024).

Please note that families are only permitted to apply to one WA government primary school.

Applications for entry in Years 1-6 can be received at any time, and dependent on available places, families will be notified if successful as soon as possible.

Procedure for Enrolment

Parents initially complete an Application for Enrolment (see below for relevant years), then when eligibility for enrolment is confirmed, the Formal School Enrolment Form is completed.

Kindergarten Immunisation Requirements

On 22 July 2019, changes to the Public Health Act 2016 (WA) and the School Education Act 1999 (WA), came into effect that will better protect young and vulnerable WA children and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Under these new changes, a child’s immunisation status must be ‘up-to-date’ according to their AIR Immunisation History Statement and must be dated within 2 months of the date of application for enrolment to be permitted to enrol into Kindergarten.

Some schools receive more applications than they have places thus applications are then prioritised in accordance with the Department of Education guidelines and procedures.

  • First priority – A child residing in the local intake area who will have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
  • Second priority – A child residing in the local intake area who will not have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
  • Third priority – A child residing outside the local intake area who will have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.
  • Fourth priority – A child residing outside the local intake area who will not have a sibling enrolled at the school for that year, and who lives nearest to the school.

Along with your "Application for enrolment" you will need to provide us with supporting documentation for each child.

Supporting documents

When lodging an application for enrolment, the following documentation must be provided and copies can be taken at the front office to include in the Application for Enrolment.

  • Proof of residential address – a current utilities bill (eg water, power, gas) or rental agreement
  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Immunisation History (AIR report) statement from Medicare not more than 2 months old
  • Copies of Family Court or any other court orders (if applicable)

If your child was not born in Australia, you must also provide these documents as evidence:

  • Date of entry in Australia
  • Passport of travel documents
  • Current visa subclass and previous visa subclass (if applicable)

Applications and supporting documentation can be handed into the front office or emailed to mundaring.ps@education.wa.edu.au
