Plastic Free July

As part of our ongoing commitment to saving the planet and all living things on it, we will once again be supporting the Plastic Free July campaign.

Given the limitation of only being at school for a small part of July (due to the school holidays) we are planning to cram a lot into next week, including making reusable beeswax wraps, banning single use plastics for the week and lots of other class based activities to support this very important initiative.

Starting on Friday 28th June and running for 5 days, Miss Hutchinson will be visiting every class to complete an activity to create a beeswax wrap which can be reused to wrap lunches in place of plastic cling film.

We are also making the last week of term totally plastic free and ask parents to support us by only sending students to school with reuseable plastic containers or some other alternative.

I am also very pleased to announce that a video of the Room 3 Assembly Poem ('Drastic With Plastic') will be available on the Mundaring Shire Facebook page as part of their own Plastic Free July Program.
